Image of the Day: A Star Cluster

Facts: ⁣

• Stars seen here are clumped together by gravity⁣

• It resides 16,700 light-years away in the constellation Tucana (The Toucan)⁣

• The Milky Way contains over 150 star clusters⁣

A cluster of stars with a bright center. The cluster gets more diffuse away from the center.⁣

Individual stars closest to the center of a cluster may be hard to distinguish, but they’re special just the same. Hubble snapped this image of Caldwell 104 in 2017.⁣
